Upcoming Event: Center for Computational Oncology Seminar Series
Maxi Strobl, Cleveland Clinic
10 – 11AM
Wednesday Mar 26, 2025
Maxi Strobl is a postdoctoral research fellow with a strong interest in developing treatment protocols that allow us to better address and ideally steer cancer evolution ("evolutionary therapies"). A mathematical modeler by training, he previously completed his Ph.D. under joint supervision of Dr Anderson (H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, USA) and Prof Maini (University of Oxford, UK) on using differential equations and agent-based models to investigate delaying drug resistance by leveraging competition between drug-sensitive and resistant cells (so-called "adaptive therapy"). Through this work, he became increasingly interested in clinical translation, and joined the Scott lab in February 2023 to gain wet lab experience and work on preclinical ways to test and refine evolutionary therapy protocols as we move them from blackboard to the bedside.
